1.1 Land Matrix data policy

The Land Matrix Initiative has an open data policy that aims to provide information on large-scale land acquisitions free from constraints and restrictions on use. Data, infographics, charts, maps, and other material provided on the Land Matrix website carry the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 International license. This means users are permitted to download, share, and adapt the material for any use, including commercial use, but must indicate any modification made and attribute the material appropriately.

Photographs and various documents made available on the Land Matrix website, such as data source documents or certain publications, may originate from third parties and carry other licences or permissions.

Terms of use

All material on the Land Matrix website, except as noted above, carries the Creative Commons CC BY 4.0 International license. According to this license, our users are free to copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format and free to remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, under the following conditions:

·       Users must give appropriate credit and clearly attribute the work.

·       Users must indicate if they modified the material and retain an indication of previous modifications.

·       Users must provide a link back to the material on https://www.landmatrix.org and a link to the license.

·       Users must not imply that the Land Matrix Initiative endorses them or their use of the material.
